The Pantry
Gateway Pantry currently opens its doors Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 10:30-4:30 pm offering a place to shop for those affected by flooding and others referred by various organizations in Abbotsford. Partnering with Archway Food Bank and through the generous donations of many in our community the Gateway Pantry is pleased to offer a variety of soups, pasta, cereal, snack items, personal hygiene supplies as well as formula, diapers etc. Proof of address from the flood zone or a referral from agency will be requested
Meal Program
Plans are underway for the continued support of feeding the flood affected residents of Sumas Prairie. Many people are still displaced, living in trailers or are back in their homes with limited cooking resources. With the blessing of many wonderful volunteers and coordinating with other local groups we aim to provide meals to the Crossroads community hub where residents and their volunteer helpers rely on daily lunches. In addition, we aim to keep freezers stocked with ready to go dinners available for pick up at various local hubs. (Meals program is supported by the Abbotsford Community Foundation through the Abbotsford Disaster Relief Fund)
How to get involved:
Pray! Ask God to help Gateway be a beacon of hope and light to our hurting community.
Volunteer: Sign up to prepare a hot lunch for the Crossroads Community Hub or make a frozen meal or two to help stock their freezer for families needing a ready made meal. Click here to send and email to volunteer.
Donate: The Pantry is always looking for items to keep the shelves stocked. Specific needs will be posted on our Facebook page coming soon as well as in the "The Weekly" and can be dropped off during store hours. A collection bin will also be in the church lobby.
