Advent box // HOPE

December 3-9

CHRISTMAS MEMORY  VERSE

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 9:6

Advent is a time to reflect on the anticipation and preparation for the birth of Jesus Christ, the embodiment of our Hope. Advent is a time of waiting, in which we can look forward to the coming of Jesus, who would bring hope to the world. Celebrating this Hope that can be found in the birth of Jesus is a reminder that Jesus can be our hope in all areas of life.

Names of Jesus Ornaments

Why this craft?

The craft for this Advent week of Hope is making Names of Jesus Ornaments. Taking the time to think of, research, talk about, and write the names of Jesus refocuses our attention back to Him and the Hope that He provides. Each and every name of Jesus speaks to an area of life that you may need His hope this year. Take some time as families to think of some Names of Jesus that provide you with hope and write them on the ornaments.

Instructions for Names of Jesus Ornament:

  1. Write Names of Jesus on the ornament, as many as you would like

  2. Colour or decorate the ornament with markers, stickers, paint, etc.

  3. Tie string to the ornament and hang on your tree as a reminder that Jesus is our hope
