Youth Retreat: Grade 9 and 10

  • From Sept 11-13 we will be hosting our annual Youth Retreat. This is our kick-off event for the year.
    • Friday, Sept 11 departing gateway at 5:00, returning Sunday, Sept 13 at 12:00
    • Cost: $50.00 per youth
    • Where: Camp Hope near Hope, BC

For the safety of all who attend, I have been working with Camp Hope to ensure we follow Covid-19 restrictions for gatherings. For example:

  • The retreat is for grades 9 and 10 only to ensure we do not go past the 45 mark for gathering size. Another retreat of some sort will be planned for grades 11/12 in the very near future.
  • There will be 2 people per room and we will try to ensure that they are with someone in their current bubble or school cohort
  • Many of the activities will take place outside (weather permitting)
  • Food will be served instead of buffet style as in previous years
  • Mask will be mandatory to take along and used when needed
  • As leadership, we will adjust as new regulations are set in place by CDC and/or Dr. Bonnie Henry.

Hang tight while we look up scheduled events...

what to expect

What will a typical Study night look like:

  • Once youth arrive at the Gateway Campus, there will be a time to gather around some wonderful food, engage in socially distant games, and enjoy the youth room activities.
  • We will then transition into our Bible Study and break in our Mentorship Group for Bible Study, discussion and prayer
  • We wrap the night up with announcements and more food.

Once every three to four weeks, the small group Mentor Leader will plan an evening of fun, interaction and fellowship for the their Mentorship Group. This is intentional time to connect, build friendships and to 'do life together'. Mentorship Groups are groups of 6-8 youth plus one or two leaders.

Mentorship Groups will gather in their leaders homes to continue with the Bible Study, fellowship, food and socially distant games.
